ABOUT THE MOON: Symbolic of the Goddess or female Divine energy, the lunar
force represents the light within darkness and enlightenment from ignorance. As it
waxes and wanes and is reborn anew, the Moon brings us the potential to connect with
our own ability to rejuvenate our lives. The moon is associated with intuition, magick
and mystery, and is a symbol of the powers of flow, psychic perception, receptivity, the
unconscious. The three phases of the moon correlate with the triple aspect of the
goddess, Maiden, Mother and Crone.
RAVEN: Raven represents magick, mystery, and sacred law as well as battle, and the
mysteries of the Crone and Matron (warrior goddess). In Native American Myth, Raven
is a Creator/Trickster god. In Celtic lore, the raven is sacred to Badb/Morrigan, Bran and
Lugh, while in Greek lore it is sacred to Hecate, an Apollo among others. In Norse
tradition,, the two ravens that sit on the shoulders of Odin are called Huginn and Muninn
(Mind and Memory). Ravens symbolize magick, mystery and sacred law. They are
sacred to many crone and matron (warrior woman) goddesses. The Morrigan is especially
connected with them.
